Jagdish, an ITI student from the Nahargarh police station area, attempted to take his own life by lying down on a railway track in Pipliya Mandi. Despite the loco pilot's valiant efforts to stop the train, 14 wagons of the goods train passed over him. After the incident, the youth fled the spot, and the railway gate was closed for 15 minutes, causing traffic on the over-bridge to be disrupted.
The loco pilot located Jagdish's belongings and mobile phone on the track and handed them over to the Pipliya railway station master. It was reported that Jagdish was about 600 meters away from the Mandsaur railway gate when the train approached. He was in the middle of a conversation with a girl on his mobile phone before the incident.
The police eventually managed to locate and capture Jagdish, and he was then returned to his family. This incident follows a similar case in Indore, in which a minor boy was booked for threatening a girl from his class with an acid attack.
