This year, the show will honor Reggae recording artist Beres Hammond with an Elite Icon Award. Trinidadian soca singer, record producer, and songwriter Machel Montano will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Montano held the top position in Billboard's Reggae Albums in 2019 with his album G.O.A.T.
When it comes to nominations, Trinidadian soca group Kes earned the most with five, followed by Masicka, Ding Dong, Montano, and Shenseea with four each. Spice, Skeng, Dexta Daps, DJ Cheem, Kabaka Pyramid, Protoje, and Nailah Blackman are right behind them with three nominations each.
In addition to the nominees, some of the biggest names in Caribbean music will perform at the awards show. Alison Hinds, Jada Kingdom, Dexta Daps, Kranium, Lila Ike, Nailah Blackman, Ding Dong, and Rupee will all be taking the stage.
