In December 2021, tragedy hit London with the death of 11-year-old Fatiha Sabrin. She was found unresponsive at a property in Sutton Street, Shadwell, and later died in hospital.
The Metropolitan Police have since charged 33-year-old Jesmin Akter from Sutton Street, Shadwell, with manslaughter and importing a regulated substance. Akter will face these charges at Thames Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday August 22.
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is currently investigating the incident. Fatiha Sabrin’s family have been informed of the charge and have been receiving support from family liaison officers.
