Wildlife Week concluded with a butterfly survey conducted at Holkar College.
Under Wildlife Week 2023, a butterfly survey was organised on the 34-acre campus of the city's Holkar Science College in Indore. The purpose of the survey was to create awareness among students and the public about protecting the environment and wildlife. The survey was conducted by the Seed Technology Department of the college in partnership with Wild Warrior’s organisation.

A total of 23 students divided into 3 teams participated in the survey under the supervision of faculty and experts. It lasted for 3 hours and the participants managed to count more than 33 different species of butterflies inside the campus. College principal Suresh T Silawat commented that such activities can easily motivate students to be more aware of conservation.

It was heartening to see the enthusiasm of the students in taking part in the activity, showing their care towards wildlife and environment. Programme coordinator of the department, Prof. Dharmendra Jat briefed the students about the aim and objectives of the survey. It was led by Wild Warriors president Sachin Matkar and members Ritesh Khabia, Swapnil Phanse and faculty Ashok Jat.

Student Neeti Kaurav, who was participating in the survey for the first time, said that she learned a lot about butterflies during the survey and had a great time. The head of the department, Dr. Preeti Chaturvedi, appreciated the active participation of the students and encouraged them to always contribute to environmental protection. Faculty Pooja Kshirsagar, Deepak Rathore and Sarika Tundale, co-head of the department, too took part in the survey.
