Walmart is supporting a youth program by sponsoring the 5th Annual Men Of Vision Juneteenth Weekend.
Walmart proudly stepped up as an official corporate sponsor for the Men of Vision Foundation's 5th Annual Juneteenth Weekend celebration. The event, which featured the MOV 5K Run/3K Walk and a lively block party, took place in Fitzgerald, Georgia from June 14-16. It was a weekend full of family fun and entertainment for all to enjoy.

The festivities kicked off on Friday night with Free Jazz in the Park, setting the tone for the exciting events to follow. Saturday's Juneteenth Block Party was a highlight of the weekend, hosted by none other than Grammy-winning singer and co-founding member of 112, Q Parker. It was a day packed with activities, including food trucks, shopping from unique vendors, and an impressive display of Black art for sale. Attendees were also treated to guest speakers, live music, and performances, as well as the chance to win some fantastic raffle prizes. The event also featured the Juneteenth Youth Essay Contest, honoring outstanding individuals, and a FREE Workout Training session. The weekend concluded on a high note with Gospel Fest on Sunday.

Walmart's generous support for the event included a $5,000 donation towards MOV's youth programs. Robert Hendry, Senior Manager of Community Affairs at Walmart, expressed their pride in being a part of such a significant event. "This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the African American community and fostering positive change nationwide," he said.

For the Men of Vision Foundation, having Walmart as a sponsor for their 5th-anniversary celebration was an incredible honor. "Walmart has a long track record of supporting the African-American community. So we at MOV are extremely humbled for them to value our community efforts enough to support us," said Carlos Scott, a representative of the foundation.

Not only was the weekend a celebration of culture and community, but it also served as the foundation's largest annual fundraiser. All proceeds from the weekend, except for the Run/Walk, go towards supporting MOV's programs and community initiatives throughout the year. These efforts include mentoring, financial literacy training, career readiness programs, STEM incubators, and resources for health and wellness. The foundation also organizes enriching trips for youth, such as visits to HBCUs and significant sites across the country.

Walmart was not the only organization to show their support for MOV's cause. Other corporate sponsors included the city of Fitzgerald, WALB News 10, Coca-Cola UNITED, Hibbett Sports, Harvey's, Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, Georgia Department of Public Health, Marble Wines, and UPSCALE Magazine. Their contributions were essential in making the weekend a success and furthering the foundation's efforts to empower and uplift the African American community.
