Mullur, May 5: A community will be able to grow only if we move forward on the foundation of culture and tradition taught by the clan gurus, said Sri Shambunath Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Hassan and Kodagu branch of the Mutt.
He spoke at a function held at the Yashasvi Kalyana Mantapa in Shanivarasante town after inaugurating the new Vokkaligara Sangha in nearby Shanivarasante and performing the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the Sangha building to be constructed in Chinnalli. The Vokkaligara community needs to move forward on the path of guidance given by the original gurus of Adichunchanagiri Sansthan and Sri Balagangadharanath Swamiji of the Sansthan Mutt for the growth of the clan and the development of society. He also said that if the clan members cultivate the ideals and thoughts of Kempegowda, who built Bangalore, the Vokkaligara Sangha, organization and community will also grow.
State Vokkaligara Sangha Director Harapalli Ravindra said that we are proud that Bangalore builder Kempegowda, former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, S.M. Krishna and other political luminaries were born in the Vokkaligara community. He said that the Vokkaligara community is in large numbers in the Shanivarasante Hobli area and there was a need for an association here for the growth of the organization. It is commendable that it has come into existence now.
Former MLA and Sakleshpur Vokkaligara Sangha President H.M. Vishwanath said that if the association and organization are strong, the community will also be strong. The community in the Malnad area is inclined to help financially and in this regard, he appealed to the clan members to join hands financially for the growth of the association.
