A startling incident was captured by the security cameras of a petrol station in south Brisbane. A young man, only 23 years old, stumbled into the store after reportedly being shot in the head. The footage shows him being dumped at the entrance of the Coles Express service station on Tamborine Street in Logan, around 5 in the morning on Sunday.
According to the police, the man was in a critical condition when he was found. The man was immediately taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he remains in an induced coma.
One of the workers who was present at the store during the incident, spoke to 9News on the condition of anonymity. They revealed that the victim had suffered severe facial injuries, including to his eye socket. The worker also mentioned that the man had initially asked for a taxi, but they had suggested an ambulance instead.
The victim had gone outside to use the restroom and upon returning to the store, he asked for an ambulance again. The worker recalled that he kept repeating, "I'm going to die, I'm going to die." It was later revealed by detectives that the man had sustained a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
As of now, no arrests have been made and no charges have been laid. The police are actively investigating the incident, trying to determine where the man was shot and who may be responsible. They are urging anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, or any information, to come forward and contact them.
