Vanessa Feltz recently shared a hilarious yet bizarre story about the advice she received during a heatwave when she was 14. She was discussing the current heatwave with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on This Morning.
The 51-year-old star began by describing the 'unprecedented' heatwave which began in May and ended in September when school started up again. She said that it was an incredible time to be 14 and recalled living her best life.
She then went on to describe the 'bizarre' advice she received that year, saying "My grandma said it was the end of the world, this never happens in England!" She joked that everyone went into the ice cream business due to the heat.
Vanessa urged viewers not to panic over the current heatwave, but guest Anushka Asthana pointed out that such an event was no longer rare. The current record-breaking heat has been blamed on the El Niño climate phenomenon, which was also to blame for the hottest year in history in 2016.
