The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has recently announced the launch of a new application portal for registration and submission of online application forms. According to a statement by the UPSC, all applicants are required to fill out the application and upload their documents through the newly introduced portal using the website https://upsconline.nic.in. The previous One Time Registration module will no longer be applicable from now on, the statement added.
This new portal aims to assist aspirants in saving time and avoiding the last minute rush when applying for various examinations conducted by the Commission. The home page of the portal provides detailed instructions to guide candidates through the process of filling out the application and uploading documents. The UPSC also strongly advises applicants to use their Aadhaar Card as their ID document for easy and seamless verification and authentication of their identity and other details. The statement further explains that the Aadhaar Card will serve as a permanent and common record for all examinations.
The new application portal will be effective from May 28, 2025. Applications for the CDS Exam-II, 2025 and NDA & NA-II, 2025, which are scheduled to be notified on 28.05.2025, will be accepted through this new online portal. The portal consists of four parts, each displayed as a separate card on the home page. Three of these cards, namely account creation, universal registration, and common application form, contain information that is common to all examinations and can be filled out by candidates at any time.
The fourth part, which is the examination section, contains specific information for each examination, including examination notices, application forms, and application status. Candidates are only required to fill out this section during the specified time period mentioned in the notification for a particular examination.
The UPSC states that this arrangement will allow candidates to fill out the first three parts at their convenience and be prepared for applying to any UPSC examination whenever notified, with any necessary updates. This will not only save time but also prevent any last minute rush, the statement adds.
The UPSC conducts a number of exams every year, including the prestigious civil services examination to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, and Indian Police Service. Additionally, the Commission also conducts various recruitment tests and interviews for the induction of individuals into Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts in the central government.
