Tragedy struck Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday when a landslide hit a passenger bus in Doda district, killing two people. According to Superintendent of Police, Bhaderwah, Vinod Sharma, the bus came under the landslide triggered by rains at village Bhangroo on Thathri-Gandoh road.

Rescue operations were launched soon after the incident, and three passengers were rescued and taken to Gandoh hospital. However, two of them, Amir Sohail of Kahara and Mudassar Ali of Changa-Bhalessa, were declared dead on arrival. Shahid Hussain of Kuntwara village has been admitted to a hospital.

The incident in Doda district was not the only one in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The bodies of two soldiers who had been washed away in flash floods in Poonch district were also recovered on the same day. The incident had taken place on Saturday when the Army men were crossing a swollen stream in Surankote area of Poonch district.

The situation in Jammu and Kashmir is increasingly becoming dire, as flash floods and landslides have also hit Lahaul and Spiti, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a red alert for seven districts over the next 48 hours. Authorities are urging people to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
