TV celebrity shares story of coming to terms with his own mortality after a close encounter with death.
Next up, we have a former star from the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours, Zima Anderson, who recently shared her experience of facing death while filming the intense reality show SAS Australia: Who Dares Wins. Zima, who played the beloved character Roxy Willis for three years, returned for a brief stint after her exit in 2022. During her time on the show, Roxy's character went through many ups and downs, eventually settling down with her partner Kyle Canning and undergoing IVF treatment to start a family.

Last year, Zima participated in the latest season of SAS: Who Dares Wins, a show based on the British version that airs on Channel 4. Alongside other Neighbours alumni Craig McLachlan and Tim Robards, Zima had to withdraw from the show due to a medical emergency in the seventh episode. The show puts celebrities through grueling challenges that aim to replicate the training of actual special forces.

Zima was tasked with jumping from a high platform into the ocean, but unfortunately, she slipped and landed on a concrete slab instead. She was meant to fall into the water, but her fall onto the concrete could have been fatal. Luckily, she only suffered a fractured elbow and wrist and was carried out on a stretcher. Reflecting on the incident, Zima shared how she thought she was going to die, but her intuition saved her from a worse fate.

In a recent interview on The Disruption Ent podcast, Zima revealed, "I remember, I almost died. I dead ass fell eight metres, onto straight concrete – just my body – and didn’t die. It was a mistake that wasn’t meant to be made and I got intuition to not do it. It was one of those things where I thought I got a message to not do it, but I didn't listen to my intuition." She went on to explain the severity of the situation and how it took her four days to walk again due to the shock in her body.

Fellow Neighbours star Tim Robards was one of the only two contestants to pass the training, alongside Olympic gold diver Matthew Mitcham. The show, which aired four celebrity seasons and one civilian season, was recently shelved by broadcaster Seven Network. It is uncertain if the show will return in the future.
