TV actor Andrew O'Keefe faces new drug-driving accusation.
Andrew O'Keefe, a former game show host, is facing yet another drug-driving charge that dates back to before his recent rehabilitation stint. It has been alleged that the troubled TV star tested positive for methamphetamine when he was pulled over for random testing in eastern Sydney on July 28 at around 11:30am.

O'Keefe was not present in Waverley Local Court today, as his lawyer Jahan Kalantar requested the matter to be adjourned to a later date. This would give him time to speak with his client. Kalantar handed a note to Magistrate Stephen Barlow, explaining O'Keefe's absence, and the prosecutors did not oppose the adjournment.

In October, the same court was informed that O'Keefe had pleaded guilty to drug possession, trespassing, and breaching a court order. The prosecutors had agreed to withdraw an additional charge of intimidation. During that hearing, Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge had warned O'Keefe that if he continued to offend, the court may come to the conclusion that he was unable to be rehabilitated. She also told him that his life had gone off the rails and that only he could make a change.

Kalantar had previously informed the court that O'Keefe was at a crossroads and could risk becoming institutionalized if he continued on the wrong path. He also mentioned that there was a genuine chance for O'Keefe to get his life in order.

In September, O'Keefe had experienced a near-fatal heroin overdose while he was out on bail. He was subsequently arrested, and a search of his grey Mercedes led to the discovery of a "clear crystal substance" when he reported to Rose Bay police station.

O'Keefe had been a presenter on Seven for more than 15 years, hosting popular shows such as Deal or No Deal and Weekend Sunrise. He was convicted of domestic violence offences in January, and his appeal on those charges was dismissed in September. The drug-driving charge is set to return to court on February 7.
