Trump agrees to pay $200K bond to surrender to authorities.
Former President Donald Trump has agreed to a $200,000 bond and other release conditions in the 2020 election interference case in Georgia. The bond agreement was released on Monday, days before his Friday noon deadline to surrender to authorities.

Todd Blanche, Jennifer Little and Drew Findling, Trump's lawyers, met with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' office on Monday before the bond agreement was released. The agreement states that Trump and his co-defendants shall pay their bonds in cash. This is in contrast to the first three cases Trump was indicted for, which did not require cash payment.

Trump and 18 of his allies were indicted last Monday in relation to their alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Fulton County. The former president faces 13 counts, including conspiracy, false statements, asking a public official to violate their oath of office, and violating Georgia’s anti-racketeering law. This legal trouble stems from a January 2, 2021 phone call Trump made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, asking him to find enough votes for him to beat Joe Biden.

On Monday morning, hours before the bond agreement was unveiled, Trump took to his Truth Social platform to criticize Willis. He wrote, "She should be impeached for many reasons, not just the Witch Hunt. Willis should focus on out of control Murder, not 'I will get TRUMP' over a Perfect Phone Call."

The ex-president has already announced plans to hand himself over and be processed at the Fulton County Jail on Thursday. He has also stated that he will not participate in the first 2024 Republican presidential primary debate, which will be hosted by Fox News on Wednesday.
