Trial of two teens accused of killing Brianna Ghey begins today.
Today marks the start of a trial that will decide the fate of two teenagers accused of murdering 16-year-old transgender girl Brianna Ghey.
Brianna was found with fatal wounds in Culcheth Linear Park, near Warrington in Cheshire, on February 11th of this year.

The two defendants, aged 16, have been charged with Brianna’s murder. Due to their age, they are only known as ‘Girl X’ from Warrington and ‘Boy Y’ from Leigh, Greater Manchester. Both deny any involvement in Brianna’s death.

The trial will take place at Manchester crown court and is expected to last three to four weeks. A jury will be selected today before the trial starts in front of Mrs Justice Yip. Both defendants are being held in secure youth accommodation.

This trial will be a difficult one for all involved, and will hopefully bring justice to Brianna Ghey and her loved ones. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
