Gonikoppal, July 18: The operation to capture the tiger that has created fear in South Kodagu has entered its 4th day. However, since no trace of the tiger has been found so far, the Forest Department has taken effective action.

A camp has already been opened in Bellur near Hudikeri, and more than 80 personnel are involved in the operation. In the wake of the tiger continuously attacking livestock, senior Forest Department officials have started a camp in the grounds of Bellur Government Higher Primary School near Hudikeri. In the early morning, Bhima and Mahendra of Balle Camp were called from the Mathigodu Elephant Camp to help in the operation.

The operation has started in the Devarakadu forest and the coffee plantation where the tiger's footprints were found around Hudikeri. In the afternoon, Forest Department Medical Officer Dr. Ramesh and the department's anesthesiologist Ranjan arrived.

In the operation, Virajpet DFO Jagannath, Thitimathi ACF Gopal, Ponnampet Zonal Forest Officer Shankar and other senior officers have made all the necessary arrangements for the operation in the premises of Bellur School.

The operation team started its work in several teams from this camp in the early morning. Regardless of the rain and wind, the team continued its efforts to find the tiger.

Virajpet Assembly constituency MLA, Chief Minister's Legal Advisor A.S. Ponnanna and State Wildlife Board member Sanket Poovaiah have given clear instructions to the authorities to take effective action to capture the tiger by preparing the necessary facilities for the tiger operation. The authorities have extended their operation for the 4th day and started the operation using livestock.
