The Stephenson triplets, Jean, Jeanet, and Jeanice, have made history by graduating together with nursing degrees from South University in Montgomery, Alabama. These 23-year-old sisters were motivated by their mom, a nurse, to carry on with their family's legacy.
Growing up, the triplets had a close bond which extended to their academic pursuits. As triplets, they had the advantage of studying together and sharing knowledge with each other. Jeanice explained to WSFA: "If one person doesn't know something, you can go to the other, and maybe they'll explain it a little better." Jean added: "We motivate each other, help each other, make sure everyone is passing and learning at the same pace."
The triplets cherish the special connection they share, tracing back to the day they were born. Jean shared: "We've always shared everything: cars, clothes, rooms, bathrooms. We were always very close because we shared everything." The triplets also have fun with their identical looks which often lead to mix-ups. Jeanet said: "Sometimes we do play tricks on people. We do get confused a lot."
After graduating with their nursing degrees, the sisters wanted to pursue different paths within nursing. Jeanet is aiming for the ICU, Jean is interested in pediatrics or NICU, and Jeanice wants to do the ER. Nevertheless, they dream of working in the same hospital one day. For now, they are celebrating this remarkable milestone of graduating together and embarking on their new career paths.
