Three people, including employees of the court, have been arrested for committing job fraud.
In the town of Keonjhar, a recent incident involving fraud has been brought to light by the police. Three individuals, including a court employee, have been arrested on charges of cheating jobless youths out of over Rs20 lakh under the false promise of providing them with employment opportunities. The accused have been identified as Tulu Mallik, a 35-year-old from Marala village in Puri district, along with Jibanananda Samal, aged 40, and Jashwant Samal, aged 28, both from Khathiasara village in Keonjhar district.

Prior to his arrest, Tulu worked as a peon in the Ghasipura Gramin Court. The police took swift action and registered a case against the three individuals, who were then produced in court. They were apprehended from a lodge in Keonjhar town. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the trio had been deceiving jobless youths for quite some time, resulting in a total loss of more than Rs20 lakh. Fake appointment letters and rubber stamps from various companies, including Tata Memorial Hospital, Joda, District Mineral Foundation, and Apollo Pharmacy, were confiscated during the police raid.

The whole ordeal came to light when Chittaranjan Nayak, the head of a private security agency in Cuttack, filed a complaint with the police. He alleged that the accused had taken Rs50,000 from him, promising to secure a tender for the appointment of security guards at the Keonjhar district headquarters hospital. The trio had informed Nayak that a tender for this position would be floated soon and that they would help him secure it for his firm. However, when no such order materialized, Nayak became suspicious and lodged a complaint at the Town Police Station.

The police launched an investigation and were able to track down the accused through their vehicle registration numbers and CCTV footage. The three individuals were subsequently arrested. Ramakant Soy, the Inspector in Charge of the Town Police Station, shared that further investigation is underway to determine if the accused were involved in any other fraudulent activities. The police are determined to bring justice to the victims and hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions.
