Do you ever feel like there's just too much negativity surrounding the gaming world? It seems like every day there's a new issue or controversy popping up, and it's hard to stay positive amidst all the chaos. Don't get me wrong, I understand that there are real problems happening in the industry. Layoffs and job instability are no joke. But as a consumer, there's not much I can do about it except support the developers by buying and playing their games.

Speaking of games, let's talk about the PlayStation 5. I was one of the lucky ones who managed to snag one early in 2021, and I have to say, I've been pretty darn happy with it. From the moment I unwrapped it, I knew it was going to be something special. Demon's Souls and Spider-Man: Miles Morales were my first two games, and they blew me away in completely different ways. And let's not forget about Astro's Playroom, a charming little gem that came as a delightful surprise. It's definitely one of the best launch titles I've ever played.

A couple of months later, I picked up Returnal, and oh boy, was that a ride. Some people have argued that the graphics could have been achieved on the PS4, but honestly, I couldn't care less. The game was a brilliant mix of third-person shooting, bullet hell, and roguelike elements. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, and I loved every minute of it.

Next up was Horizon Forbidden West, and all I can say is wow. The graphics in this game are absolutely breathtaking. Sure, the gameplay may not be as strong in comparison, but it's still solid and enjoyable. And then there was God of War Ragnarök, which was every bit as emotional and epic as its predecessor. And most recently, I've been having a blast with Helldivers 2, a game that continues to impress me with its addictive gameplay.

And let's not forget about all the other third-party games that are available on the PS5. There are also plenty of other exclusives that have received rave reviews, even if they may not appeal to me personally. Overall, I think it's been a pretty solid lineup of games for the first few years of the PS5's release. And that's just the games I've played, there are even more options out there.

I know things have slowed down recently, but it's not like there's nothing new coming out. Sony has been smart about filling the gaps with exclusive titles. Of course, I'm not trying to downplay the issues in the industry. I may not fully understand them, and I'm sure the average consumer has no idea what's going on behind the scenes. But for me, as a player just looking for some fun and value for my money, I can't really complain about the PS5.

Will it go down as the best console of all time? Who knows. That's a pretty tall order. But as far as I'm concerned, it's a successful successor to the PS4, and I'm already excited for upcoming games like Astro Bot and Concord. I hope the industry can sort out its problems, but for now, I'm just grateful for all the amazing games I have to play on my PS5.
