The next God Of War, PlayStation Portal and Blasphemous 2 are being praised and appreciated.
God Of War Ragnarök – Where Should Kratos Go Next?
The Monday letters page recently asked for Nintendo to make more realistic games like Excitebike and for PS5 gamers to send in their suggestions for new games. I think a standalone expansion to bridge the gap to the next story would be a good idea. It could be a lot of fun and might be something that games have never done before.
Egypt seems like the obvious choice for the next game, but I do wonder what will happen when they run out of famous ancient religions because I don’t think they’ll have Kratos beating up current religious figures. The idea of him living in the modern day is interesting though.

New Owner
I recently took advantage of a cheap deal and bought a PS5. Now I'm looking into what new games to get. Gran Turismo 7 is out of the question and I'm not too keen on Ratchet & Clank, but I know it’s one of the few PlayStation 5-only games so I might be interested on that basis.
For those just getting into the next gen console, Sony’s silence doesn’t really mean much. As long as it doesn’t last beyond this year it won’t make any difference.

Godly Sequel
I'm really enjoying Blasphemous 2. The first one was good, but I didn’t find it enjoyable to play. This one has so many improved mechanics and I really enjoyed the duel-like boss fight. It was a great back and forth with the music increasing in tempo the more life you took off her.

Nintendo Realism
Excitebike 64 is coming to Nintendo Switch Online soon and I'm looking forward to playing it. It reminds us that Nintendo used to make quite a lot of realistic games and I'd like to see them going back to that. Sequels to Excitebike and Wave Race are the obvious ones, but I'd like to see what a moderately realistic Nintendo car game would look like. It'd be great to bring Pilotwings back too, as the more realistic simulation it was back in the Nintendo 64 days.

Feature Parity
Can Microsoft not implement scaling on their games for consoles? It could be an option to help performance on the Xbox Series S by allowing players to select the console they’re using when they start the game. The game can then automatically downscale for them.

GC: It already downscales for things like resolution and frame rate, that’s not the issue. The problem is that Microsoft wants games to have the same features and modes on both consoles, and the Xbox Series S can’t handle split-screen for Baldur’s Gate 3.
God of War Ragnarök – Where should Kratos go next?
The Monday letters page recently wanted to know if Nintendo should make more realistic games like Excitebike, and what PS5 games readers are looking forward to.
It's been a while since the God of War Ragnarök ended, and we're all left wondering where Kratos will go next. We never got to see why or how Kratos and Atreus got to Scandinavia, so I think a standalone expansion to bridge the gap between the two games would be a great idea.
Naughty Dog's Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was a great game, but the story was kind of random and didn't really set anything up for the next game. I think a transitional adventure could be a lot of fun and something we haven't seen before.
I'm thinking Egypt is our best bet for the next game's setting, as the gods and mythology seem really cool and interesting. I'm just worried about what they'll do when they run out of famous ancient religions, because I'm sure they won't have Kratos beating up any current religious figures. The idea of him living in the modern world is intriguing, though.

On that note, I recently took advantage of the cheap deals and bought a PlayStation 5. I'm not sure what new games to get, but I like most things, apart from Gran Turismo 7. I'm also not super enthused about Ratchet & Clank, but it's one of the few PlayStation 5-only games so I might pick it up.

I'm also playing Blasphemous 2 at the moment and it's so much better than the first one. The boss battles are really entertaining, and the music increasing in tempo the more life you take off your enemy was a great touch.

Excitebike 64 is coming to Nintendo Switch Online soon and I'm really looking forward to playing it again. It reminds us that Nintendo used to make quite a lot of realistic games, and I'd love to see them going back to that. I'd love to see sequels to Excitebike and Wave Race, and it'd be great to bring Pilotwings back too, as the more realistic simulation it was back in the Nintendo 64 days.

Finally, I just wanted to mention that I think Microsoft should implement scaling on their games for consoles. It'd be great if we were able to select the console we're using when we start the game, and the game would automatically downscale. This would help with performance on the Xbox Series S.
