The Helix has achieved excellence, meeting the highest expectations.
The HELIX park in Falkirk has gained "gold" accreditation from the Green Tourism organisation after passing its sustainability tests, obtaining a score of 80%. This "gold" rating is an upgrade from The Helix's earlier "bronze" one. Councillor Paul Garner, Falkirk Council's spokesperson for economic development and tourism, commented: “The story of Helix Park is rooted in the ideals of sustainability, biodiversity, and community.

Achieving the 'Green Tourism Gold Award' is a confirmation of our attempts to keep these in mind in everything we do.” He added: “Given research shows that 90% of consumers look to sustainable options when traveling, we are especially proud to have achieved 'Gold Green Tourism Award' within ten years of operating. The staff of Helix, like people everywhere, are becoming increasingly conscious of green issues on a personal level. We welcomed the possibility to bring these individual commitments into our working lives, whether in the park itself or in our retail and catering departments. We are extremely proud of our work so far and the wider team's enthusiasm to accept the changes.

We look forward to continuing our journey and improving our Green Tourism score.” Read more stories on Scottish Field's outdoors pages, and don't miss Guy Grieve's column in the April issue of Scottish Field magazine. The post The Helix hits 'gold' standard appeared first on Scottish Field.
