The Conversation — Trump and Musk Chat For Two Hours

Elon Musk struck a brilliant two hour marketing chord for X (and his own brand) by using X Spaces (look it up) as the platform to conduct a leisurely two hour conversation with Donald J Trump the Republican nominee for President of the United States.

The convo — voices only no video — was slow and at times funny (boring as veneal sin at others). It worked because of its pace, the fact there was enough time to develop subtleties and nuances within the subject matter, and because there was no real structure other than a list of subjects Musk wanted to cover.

Turns out Trump has a great sense of humor. Who knew?

Step back for a second — isn’t that the way supposed “debates” should be — a detailed and yet rambling conversation with a candidate guided by a smart person with the answers relaxed and flowing freely?

I would pay admission for Musk to guide Kamala Harris through a conversation about why we have an open Southern border.

And, why not, Big Red Car?

Well, dear reader, the reasons we don’t see conversations like this are:

 1. the MSM does not want to lose control of such ratings driving events;

 2. there are no supposed journalists who could be as even handed in conducting the conversation;

 3. no media outlet would ever offer a free flowing, no commercial, and open-ended forum for such an intelligent conversation.

Bottom line it, Big Red Car, we’re going fishing

I thought the conversation was at times difficult to follow because of no visuals. I realized I need/want the visual cue of demeanor and facial expression to “hear” the conversation, but as the convo went on I found myself listening more intently.

This was a tour de force for Musk, X, and X Spaces; and, a boffo performance by Trump who said what he has been saying whilst taking definitive stands on a number of different subjects. I thought his words on nuclear energy were extremely interesting.

I walked away pining for the America that existed during the Trump admin.

I have never particularly liked the man Trump, but I respect and adore his common sense policies that led to prosperity and world peace. We could use some of both right now.

But, hey, what the Hell do I really know anyway? I’m just a Big Red Car. Good luck fishing.
