The CM is asking for people's feedback to help create the Annual Budget for 2024-25.
The Chief Minister of Bhubaneswar, Mohan Charan Majhi, is reaching out to the people for their valuable suggestions and participation in the upcoming Budget-making process. The Finance Department has already been conducting Pre-Budget consultations with various groups from society, but the government believes that the input of the common people is crucial for creating a budget that truly reflects the needs and desires of the people.

In a statement released by the Chief Minister's office, it was emphasized that this government is a government of the people, and therefore, it is important to seek their proposals and opinions for the budget-making process. To ensure a more open and inclusive process, the Finance Department has taken the initiative to use Information and Communication Technology. This means that suggestions can now be submitted through the dedicated Budget web portal, e-mail, WhatsApp, and even SMS.

The Finance Department has set up a structured format on the Budget web portal (https://budget.odisha.gov.in/) for people to submit their suggestions, which will be considered as valuable input in the preparation of the Annual Budget. Additionally, suggestions can also be sent through WhatsApp to the designated number 9438161111, as well as through popular social media platforms like X, Facebook, and Instagram.

In order to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to participate, the Finance Department has extended the deadline for suggestions and opinions to be submitted. People can now send their ideas and feedback via e-mail to [email protected] from June 20 until July 5. This unique opportunity to be a part of the budget-making process of the state government has been extended to members of the public, Civil Society organizations, Advocacy Groups, and other stakeholders. The government is eager to hear from all sections of society and encourages everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to the development of the state.
