The Association of African American Financial Advisors is hosting a conference for women of color working in wealth management to network and connect.
On Juneteenth, the Association of African American Financial Advisors, also known as Quad-A, will be launching the Women's Impact Initiative Network, a two-day event in Chicago dedicated to networking and education. The creation of WIIN is a direct response to the lack of representation of women in the wealth management sector of the financial services industry.

This initiative is driven by the industry's long-standing gender imbalances and the urgent need for a more diverse and inclusive workforce that promotes equal opportunities and inclusivity. According to AAAA, WIIN's ultimate goal is to revolutionize the industry's landscape and pave the way for Black/African American women, especially in wealth management. The network aims to achieve this by creating an empowering environment, providing continuous learning opportunities, and fostering a collaborative spirit to open new doors for women of color.

The conference, taking place on June 19 and 20, will offer attendees the chance to make meaningful connections while participating in a diverse range of sessions. These sessions will cover topics such as women advisors, building a supportive professional network, utilizing connections to increase net worth, investment and estate planning strategies, retirement planning, the latest advancements in fintech and digital assets, and achieving work-life balance as a successful career woman and mother.

Some of the notable speakers at the conference include Tammia Rowe, Market Director of Wealth at JP Morgan; Nneka Constantino, VP/Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch; Naomi Lynn, Branch Manager/Executive Director at Wells Fargo Advisors; Lisa Pope, VP/Senior Advisor at Merrill Lynch; Shaakira N. Mason-Holloway, Market Director/Executive Director at JP Morgan Wealth Management; and Linda Reeves, Business Development Director at Merrill Lynch.

Sheena Gray, Quad-A's interim CEO, shared with Think Advisor that the group works closely with its corporate partners and other stakeholders to achieve its mission. This includes the WIIN project and other initiatives that align with their goals. Gray stated, "We value all our allies, and they will also be present at the conference. So while this event is centered around women, it is not exclusively for women."

Alex David, the interim board chairman, emphasized the conference's focus on professional development, creating opportunities, and addressing racial and gender inequalities. He stated, "Any advisor who attends this conference will have the chance to enhance their skills and expertise." Additionally, select attendees will have the privilege of attending a special evening event on June 19 featuring the legendary Janet Jackson.
