The AM/NS India program assists young people in Kendrapara to obtain employment in leading companies.
In the town of Kendrapara, a remarkable initiative called 'Daksh' was launched by the renowned steel company ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India on December 7, 2023. This initiative, in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation, aimed to provide skill development training to the underprivileged youth in the area. As a result, a Digital Skill Centre was established and it has already produced impressive results.

The first batch of training saw 100 local youths completing a placement-linked IT/ITES training. What's even more impressive is that 85 out of these 100 youths have already received job offers and have been successfully placed in well-known companies like Wipro, Tech-Mahindra, Flipkart, and Tattva Technology in Bhubaneswar. This has brought new hope and opportunities for the youth in Kendrapara, who previously lacked access to such opportunities.

The success of this initiative is further highlighted by the fact that more than 100 job offers were made to the candidates in this batch alone. These young boys and girls were selected from 11 nearby villages in the Mahakalapara block after extensive consultations with the community and village leaders. Apart from technical training, the candidates were also given non-technical courses to enhance their communication skills, personality development, and interview skills. Upon completion of the program, the trainees were awarded professional certificates and were successfully placed in jobs.

In the upcoming second batch, another 100 youths from nearby villages will be trained, bringing more opportunities for the local community. During the launch event, Vikas Yadvendu, Head of CSR at AM/NS India, congratulated the successful candidates and expressed his pride in the fact that 55% of the participants in the first batch were local girls. He also emphasized the company's commitment to serving the local community and creating a brighter future for all.

AM/NS India has taken similar initiatives in eight other operating locations and has already trained over 1500 educated and unemployed youths, out of which 74% have received job opportunities in reputed companies. This not only shows the impact of such programs but also highlights the company's dedication to giving back to the society. With initiatives like 'Daksh', AM/NS India is truly making a positive difference in the lives of the youth and the communities they serve.
