Team works with the Argyll Islands to create and implement projects to help the islands.
The Culture, Heritage & Arts Assembly has put together a team to aid Argyll & Bute’s 23 inhabited islands. Caitlin McNeill, who resides on Colonsay and is employed there, is the new islands culture officer for Charts, and is helping many of the organization’s 100 members exhibit their work. McNeill is working with two other colleagues on "Ràmh", a year-long islands development project. Amy Dunnachie, from Jura, is the islands lead artist for Ràmh’s arts-led consultation for those under 30, and Mary Morrison is from Harris.

McNeill mentioned: "Ràmh is the Gaelic word for 'oar' or 'paddle'. The phrase 'air an aon ràmh' - meaning 'all working together' or 'from the same oar' - accurately encapsulates the soul of this endeavor. Argyll has had a huge influence on Scotland's culture, and islanders have always been productive in the arts. My goal is to take a few of the things we are thankful for on the islands and show it to a bigger audience, as well as to guarantee that islanders get the same fair opportunities as people on the mainland. We are doing that by assisting island practitioners and organizations in new projects and bringing attention to their existing successes, as well as helping protect the amazing heritage that supports all of our members' work." Kathleen O’Neill, director of Charts, commented: "One of our main goals is to contemplate how, by further comprehending and backing cultural activities across Argyll’s islands, we can act appropriately to help year-round socio-economic results for island communities."
