T.I. gave back to his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, September 8 when he visited Morris Brown College to gift students with free tablets and wi-fi. After posing for pictures with Pell Grant recipients, the rapper also provided a year of free wifi service for the students' educational use.
The visit was part of a larger venture between T.I. and Moolah Wireless, who had previously provided 200 tablets to Morris Brown College students in August for the school’s restoration. Upon the launch of the new venture, T.I. shared his enthusiasm for the partnership. “I’m excited to partner with Moolah Wireless to be able to provide the students at Morris Brown College free tablets to support their educational endeavors,” he stated. “This is the first of many schools whose students will receive Moolah tablets.”
In April, Morris Brown College was restored to its former accreditation status, and T.I. has seen his newest venture as an opportunity to give back to those who have supported him over the years. This is not the first time the “Motivation” rapper has partnered with an Atlanta-based university. Last year, he taught a course on “The Business of Trap” at Clark Atlanta University with Dr. Melva Williams. “HBCUs have a vital role in our community and have managed to withstand even while being some of the most under-resourced institutions,” he expressed. “Our national HBCUs continue to underscore the fact that we have always had to do more with less. I am excited to be partnering with Clark Atlanta University in my hometown – Atlanta.”
T.I.’s commitment to education and providing support to the underprivileged is admirable. His recent visit to Morris Brown College is a testament to his dedication to supporting students in need of educational resources, and is sure to promote a brighter future for many.
