Police in Sydney's north-west are on the hunt for an armed man who has been targeting women. They have released CCTV footage and increased patrols in the area to help catch him.

An hour later, a white Mitsubishi Outlander SUV was reported stolen from a petrol station in North Rocks. A 47-year-old woman was then allegedly robbed of her bag and personal items on Mons Road in Northmead. The suspect is believed to have fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. Shortly after, a 19-year-old woman was approached by the man and threatened with a flick-knife in Toongabbie. Five minutes later, a 49-year-old woman was also targeted by the man, this time with a hammer. He stole her backpack and then allegedly confronted a 27-year-old woman on North Rocks Road in North Parramatta.
Fortunately, the stolen items and the SUV have been recovered. However, the suspect is still at large and there have been no further sightings of him today. Superintendent Vincent has urged the public to remain cautious and to report any information to Crime Stoppers or the local police station. He also thanked the two men who tracked the stolen phone to help in the recovery of the stolen items.
