Sydney man reportedly kidnapped and abused in his own home in exchange for money.
Three individuals have been accused of orchestrating a kidnapping and torture scheme in Sydney. According to reports, the trio approached a 31-year-old man as he was making a phone call in Granville on November 23. The encounter took place between 4:30pm and 6:30pm and the three men were allegedly armed with bats. They proceeded to restrain the man with cable ties before driving away.

The victim was then taken to a residence in St Marys, where he was reportedly subjected to physical assault and torture. It is believed that the group targeted the man in hopes of obtaining financial gain, demanding a ransom from his brother. However, even after the ransom was paid, the group did not release the victim and instead demanded more money.

The following morning at around 5:45am, the trio arranged to meet the victim's brother in Panania to receive the ransom. However, a fight broke out and the 31-year-old was able to escape and call the police. He was later taken to the hospital for treatment of a black eye, cuts on his head, and a deep wound on his left hand.

Following a thorough investigation, law enforcement officials executed raids at three different addresses in Leichhardt, Kogarah, and Preston. This resulted in the arrest of two 19-year-old men and one 25-year-old man. The trio was charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault with intent to steal a motor vehicle while armed with a weapon, and kidnapping with the intent to demand a ransom.

Yesterday, the two 19-year-old men appeared in court and were denied bail, while the 25-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court today.
