Nostradamus speaks…
The petition to get Starfield on PlayStation 5 has certainly sparked some interesting discussions. It’s no secret that exclusives are a major source of contention in the gaming industry and this petition highlights the passion that so many gamers have for their preferred console.

It’s understandable that some gamers would feel slighted if a major new game isn’t available on their platform of choice, but I think it’s important to remember that this is a business decision, not a personal attack. After all, why should Microsoft/Activision not make the maximum amount of money for their titles?

I think it’s also important to remember that Bethesda was acquired by Microsoft and that certain games may be exclusive to their platforms. That being said, I do hope that Starfield is eventually released on PlayStation 5, as well as other consoles. It would be a shame if a new IP such as this was permanently exclusive to Xbox. Similarly, I’m sure many people would be upset if The Elder Scrolls 6 were to be a permanent exclusive.

The other interesting conversation was about Hideo Kojima claiming that he is 70% films. I can understand why he would feel that way, especially with games like Death Stranding having such a cinematic feel. Still, it’s odd that he hasn’t done anything in the film space yet, especially when you compare it to other creatives.

Finally, I was intrigued by the idea of a hookshot returning in Tears Of The Kingdom. It sounds like a fun idea and I’m sure it would be a great addition to the game.

Overall, it’s fascinating to see the different conversations that are sparked by a single petition and I’m sure the debate will continue for some time.
Starfield – Will it Ever Be on PS5?
The Tuesday letters page is a popular platform for discussing the latest video game news and rumors. Recently, there was a discussion about why Hideo Kojima has never tried to make a movie, while another reader asked for a hookshot in Tears Of The Kingdom.

Getting Away with it
Recently, I've seen a petition circulating online to get the game Starfield released on PlayStation 5. I'm not sure if the people responsible are genuinely passionate about the game, or if they're just using it as an opportunity to take a dig at Sony, who has been getting some negative press lately.

Personally, I'm against exclusivity of any kind. I think it's unfair to limit the game to one platform, especially if it would make more money if it were released on more formats. It's not like this is a new concept - Call Of Duty has been released on multiple platforms for years now. So why can't the same logic be applied to games from Bethesda?

I think Starfield should be launched as an Xbox console exclusive, but eventually it should be released on other platforms too. I wouldn't be surprised if The Elder Scrolls 6 was an exclusive too, and that would cause a lot of unrest among gamers.

50/50 Guess
The Starfield petition has really got people talking. It's hard to tell if it's genuine or just a joke - there are so many entitled gamers out there that it could be either. But if it's serious, then it's a bit worrying. Harassing Bethesda employees is never okay, and it would be a shame if this petition turned into something like that.

It's a shame that people can get so passionate about something like this, when there are much more meaningful things in life that deserve their attention and enthusiasm.

30% Unidentified
I find it strange that Hideo Kojima claims his body is 70% films, yet he's never made one. He has long cutscenes in his games, but that's not the same as actually making a movie. Even if he's being metaphorical, it's still a strange thing to say.

I enjoyed Death Stranding but the movie news made me realise how unusual it is that Kojima has never made a film before. People have different priorities, I guess, but it's a bit odd.

Nostradamus Writes…
I'm not particularly bothered about Starfield, and I can't imagine it will be all that different from other games with in-game purchases. It'll be fun for a few weeks or months, then people will move on.

Xbox won't make any money from Starfield since they paid too much for the company. All I want to play is Spider-Man 2.

GC: What’s the point in making this sort of thing up? Maybe it’ll have bugs, maybe it won’t, but there’s absolutely nothing to suggest it’ll have in-game purchases. And a single-player game that keeps you playing for months sounds pretty great to us… and nothing like a multiplayer-only game like Battlefield.

Gameplay Hook
One thing that Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is missing is a hookshot. I know you can use the glider and sage stuff, but sometimes there are ledges separated by lava or water that you have to climb for ages.

It would be great if you could attach a chain to a spear and launch it into the wall above the ledge, and then reel yourself in. I'm sure a lot of people would love that.

Rant Against Rants
I'm sick of people online slating corporate ideologies while simultaneously asking you to like and subscribe. I'm also tired of interviewers who ask the same two questions all the time. But the worst thing is fanboy ranting and raving. It's so tedious and really holds the industry back.

I grew up with a Spectrum, so I never really knew who the rival was. It was just about playing games and having fun. But now people get so crazed and enraged about these pieces of equipment. It's ridiculous to worship a company and its faceless entities just because of a product. I can like my LG TV and my old Sony cathode ray, and I can like Heinz beans and Branston's. Why can't people get along like that?
