Sliders not the best shoes for running, even for a cannabis farmer.
Residents of the sleepy village of Cofton Hackett in Worcestershire were met with an unexpected surprise when police raided a cannabis factory in a semi-detached house.
Officers seized an estimated £50,000 worth of cannabis plants, including 60 large plants and 198 smaller ones, each estimated to be worth around £1,000 in a few months.
The suspect, wearing a tracksuit and grey slippers, attempted to flee the scene by climbing out of a top window and jumping onto a neighbouring roof.
However, he was quickly apprehended in a nearby garden.
The raid also uncovered cultivation equipment and a sophisticated electrical system.
PC Rod Hartwright of West Mercia Police said the warrant was a result of concerns raised by neighbours about suspicious activity in the area.
A 19-year-old Albanian man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.
PC Hartwright added, "Drugs have a negative impact on our communities and can lead to other localised criminality and the harm and exploitation of vulnerable people. We will not tolerate drugs within our community and will continue to act on information given to us about drugs."
