Sir Rod Stewart, 78, ends UK tour in Edinburgh with an adorable duet featuring his 94-year-old sister Mary.
Sir Rod Stewart bowed out of his UK tour in style, bringing his beloved 94-year-old sister Mary on stage for a duet. The Maggie May hitmaker, 78, delighted thousands of fans in Edinburgh with the surprise appearance.

The rocker was already sporting a sparkly black shirt when Mary walked out and placed a white sailor's hat with a black peak on his head. Introducing her, he said proudly: "This is my sister! 94!" Mary waved to the audience and stood with her arms around her brother while he sang with the most adorable moment.

Sir Rod later told The Mirror how much it meant for him to have Mary on stage. He added: "At 94, she's on a rock'n'roll stage and loving it. She has and continues to teach me about life."

The heartwarming moment comes after Sir Rod's brothers Bob and Don passed away in September last year. Announcing the heartbreaking news at the time, he shared a photo to social media of a candle and said: "I’ve lost two of my best mates in the space of two months. RIP Don and Bob 'irreplaceable buddies'."

Sir Rod has faced his own health issues too. He had a brief illness in March, causing him to cancel a show in Australia. He was also diagnosed with cancer in the past, and has continued performing after a knee replacement and ankle surgery.

The star's children are worried about him and want him to take time to focus on his health and family - especially after the birth of his third grandbaby. However, the rocker is determined to keep performing, with plans to jet across the pond with gigs in South America, Europe, and North America, including Las Vegas.
