Singer from The Voice explains why they steer clear of Coldplay's Chris Martin.
Next up on the list, we have an interesting revelation from Delta Goodrem. The talented singer, known for her role in Neighbours and her hit album Innocent Eyes, has recently opened up about her avoidance of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. Despite her long and successful career in the public eye, Delta confesses that Chris has always left her feeling on edge.

During an appearance on the ABC series The Assembly with Leigh Sales, Delta was asked if she had ever been starstruck by another celebrity. Without hesitation, she began to share some of her most embarrassing encounters with Chris. "You've heard of Coldplay, right? Well, for some reason, Chris Martin just throws me off. I can't seem to speak properly around him," she admitted.

Delta went on to explain how she had gotten "really awkward" every time she had spoken to Chris in the past. She even recalled a time when she was having dinner with Olivia Newton-John in Los Angeles and purposely avoided acknowledging Chris's presence in the same restaurant. "I was thinking, 'Oh no, please don't notice that we're here.' But of course, he did," Delta laughed.

In fact, not only did Chris notice, but he even confronted Delta about it in the parking lot later on. "He asked me, 'Delta, why didn't you say hi?' And in my head, I was thinking, 'Because I embarrass myself every single time!'" she shared. "I've said really weird things to him. Every time."

Back in 2016, Delta had also expressed her desire to collaborate with Chris, stating that he was her dream collaborator. "I'm always open to collaborations. I love Coldplay, I'm a sucker for the piano. I also like something that's a bit left or a bit right, it depends on the moment and the song," she had told The Daily Telegraph.

Aside from her awkward encounters with Chris, Delta also touched on her time as a coach on The Voice Australia. She shared how she had faced intense public scrutiny during that time, but had learned to stay true to herself and not let it affect her. "When I'd been under attack on The Voice, there was quite a target on me and it didn't feel justified. That was a rough moment, but I look at it like: I'll never give up, I'll wait until the storm passes. I've just learned to cut it out. I don't google anything. I just stay true to myself," she said.

The Assembly airs on ABC in Australia, while The Voice airs on Channel Seven. For fans of The Voice UK, the show will be returning this Saturday on ITV1.
