Seven babies die in fire at children's hospital in east Delhi.
In New Delhi, tragedy struck as a massive fire engulfed a children's hospital in Vivek Vihar, located in the eastern part of the city. The devastating incident resulted in the loss of seven precious newborn lives, according to officials who shared the news on Sunday.

The Delhi Fire Services team revealed that the blaze erupted at the hospital in Shahdara on Saturday night. The quick spread of the fire caused chaos and panic among the medical staff and patients. Fortunately, twelve newborns were rescued from the facility, but unfortunately, seven of them could not survive the ordeal, as confirmed by Atul Garg, the chief of DFS.

Garg further added that the remaining five babies were immediately shifted to another hospital for emergency treatment. Upon inquiry, a senior police officer informed that the fire had broken out at the Baby Care New Born Hospital and the building adjacent to it at approximately 11:30 pm on Saturday. The newborns were rescued with the help of other people and rushed to a safer location.

However, the officer also shared the heart-wrenching news that six of the rescued babies were declared brought dead, while one passed away during the course of treatment. The bodies of the innocent victims have been transferred to the GTB Hospital for postmortem to determine the cause of their tragic deaths.

The police have also announced that strict action will be taken against the owner of the hospital, identified as Naveen Kichi. As the investigation is still ongoing, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The entire city is mourning the loss of these innocent lives and praying for the speedy recovery of the five infants who are currently undergoing treatment. This incident serves as a reminder to always prioritize safety measures, especially in places like hospitals where precious lives are at stake.
