Secret Service investigates Masked Singer star over alleged threat against Joe Biden.
John Schneider is under investigation by the US Secret Service after the 63-year-old actor wrote a post on social media which suggested that President Joe Biden should be "publicly hung." The post, which has since been deleted, was in response to a post from Biden warning of the threat posed by former President Donald Trump if re-elected next year.

The post read: "Mr. President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung. Your son too. Your response is..? Sincerely, John Schneider."

Schneider, who is best known for his role as Bo Duke in the Dukes of Hazzard, recently appeared on the US version of The Masked Singer, and has denied making any threats to the President. He told the New York Post: “I suggest you re-read my actual post and pay attention to the words before believing this nonsense.”

The star went on to explain that his post was more about accountability and transparency from the nation's leaders. He said: “It’s my position, which I am entitled to have, that some of our nation’s leaders in Washington have lost their way, and corruption runs rampant, both on our nation’s borders and abroad. There is no threat implied or otherwise in that statement.”

Schneider has had a difficult year, having lost his wife Alicia Allain to breast cancer earlier this year. He recently admitted that he was bracing for a "rough" Christmas, saying: "Grief will sneak up on you and smack you in the back of the head. Truly, when you least expect it... But, you know, the notion that grief will ever go away is silly.”

The Agency has contacted John Schneider’s representatives for comment.
