School had raised concerns about driver prior to accident.
Green Point Christian College in NSW recently sent a letter to parents confirming that Brett Andrew Button, 58, had been driving a bus full of Year 5 students on an excursion to Bathurst and back last Thursday and Friday.
In the letter, Principal Phillip Nash revealed that their teachers had expressed concerns about Button's conduct behind the wheel. They had noticed that he was often chatting to them instead of focusing on the road.

Nash said that while the teachers had not considered their concerns to be serious enough to contact the school during the excursion, they did report them to the bus company, Linq, once it was over.

Following the tragedy in the Hunter Valley on Sunday night, the school immediately forwarded their concerns to police. Police have confirmed that they have received a letter of complaint and it is expected that the teachers who were on the bus for the school trip will be interviewed.

Button is now facing 11 charges from the crash, including 10 charges of dangerous driving and one of negligent driving. He was in court yesterday, where a magistrate put strict bail conditions in place.

In a statement to 9News, Linq said that they had only been made aware of the school's concerns today. They said that as with all their drivers, Button had passed an independent driver assessment and his references had been checked. They also said it would be inappropriate to comment any further.
