Then we started thinking, ‘We could have had two… Will the living twin always wonder, ‘What if?’ and will they feel lonely? We found ourselves questioning what could have been, while feeling grateful for what we’ve got.”

Sam and Briony are already parents to two children. They have a daughter, born in May last year, and an older son, Sonny, who turned three in August. During their joint interview on Loose Women, the couple previously talked about Coronation Street, and Briony revealed that Sonny recognises Sam on TV, but gets confused when he sees his dad with his on-screen family and their quadruplets.

This year marks Sam’s 20 year celebration on Coronation Street, as he joined the soap in 2003 when he was just 10 years old.
