Sabrina Elba recently opened up about working with her husband, Idris, on their S'ABLE Labs skincare line. She admitted that it posed a "big learning curve" for the couple.
"On day one of Beautycon LA, Sabrina got candid about her experience working with her husband," she told People. "It's not a perfect fit, but we've definitely developed ways of working together."
The 35-year-old entrepreneur revealed that in order to figure out how to work together, they started a podcast to learn from other couples.
"We learned so much," she said. "I think it's having correct boundaries and understanding that, like, you know, finding work is not the same as finding a date night. There are appropriate avenues—work hours, for instance, that's been a big learning curve for me."
The Elbas launched their wellness brand in 2021, and Sabrina said she "can't imagine doing it with anyone else."
Their genderless skincare collection was an idea that came from a conversation in which they realized a disconnect in their community concerning well-being and self-care.
“Self-care is such an important thing in partnerships and relationships—when you’re feeling really good about yourself, you’re able to share that with other people, and it’s infectious,” Sabrina said. “We want to remind people to share that good energy.”
The Elbas' skincare collection is formulated with African botanicals and powered by contemporary science. It features products with "ubiquitous ingredients" that have maximum effect on the skin and minimal impact on the planet.
Sabrina joined several A-list beauty, fashion, and entertainment icons this past weekend for Beautycon LA's return after a four-year hiatus from its Los Angeles roots. Her appearance was a testament to the power and influence of the Elbas' skincare collection.
