Virajpet, July 2. The Revenue Department has acquired 11 acres of government land in V. Badaga village for the construction of a sports training centre.
Virajpet MLA and Chief Minister's legal advisor A. S. Ponnanna had earlier asked the Tahsildar to reserve eleven acres of government land for various sports training centres in Virajpet taluk.
On the instructions of the MLA, the officials of the revenue department headed by Veerajpet taluk tahsildar Anant Shankar reached the place and took possession of the 11 acres of land.
Later, the government took over 11 acres of land in Virajpet Hobli V Badaga village and banned trespassing in the area.
Revenue department inspector Harish ML, village accountant and staff were present on the occasion.
