Revanna's request for relief and bail is delayed after adjournment of hearing for HD Kumaraswamy's son's bribery case.
In an ongoing case involving allegations of abduction and sexual abuse, JD MLA HD Revanna, son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, was denied bail by the Special Court for Elected Representatives in Bengaluru. The 66-year-old former Minister, who is currently in the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), had filed a plea for bail which was adjourned to Wednesday for further hearing.

Revanna and his confidant, Sathish Babanna, were charged with abduction on Thursday night after a complaint was filed by the woman's son. The woman had allegedly been sexually abused by Revanna's son and JD MP Prajwal Revanna on April 29. The SIT, which was formed by the state government on April 28, has also secured the custody of Babanna.

According to sources, the woman was abducted to prevent her from testifying against Prajwal. The case gained attention when explicit videos of the alleged sexual abuse by Prajwal went viral on social media. This led to the formation of the SIT after the Karnataka State Commission for Women wrote a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Prajwal, who was the NDA candidate in the recent Lok Sabha elections, left the country on April 27 and has been avoiding the SIT's summons to appear before them.

Interpol has issued a Blue Corner notice against the absconding MP, who is facing charges of sexual abuse. The SIT had initially remanded him to police custody till May 8, but the court rejected his anticipatory bail plea. The bail plea hearing for Revanna has also been adjourned to Wednesday.
