It turned out that she had glandular fever, a big infection, and an abscess in her throat. She also mentioned that she had not allowed herself any recovery time after recovering from COVID-19, which may have compromised her immune system.
Vicky then opened up about how she had been ignoring all the signs that her body needed a break. She had been working a punishing schedule, feeling overwhelmed, struggling to sleep at night, and not taking care of herself by eating well and exercising. She admitted that she hadn't taken any time off since her half marathon in April, which is unlike her. This experience served as a wake-up call for her and made her realize that she had been pushing herself too hard.
She ended her post by saying that she would be in the hospital for a while and that she believes it's for the best. Alongside her post, she shared photos of herself looking exhausted in the emergency department, lying in bed with an IV drip, and watching old episodes of New Girls while recovering.
