Reality star Pete Wicks is happy to have missed the festive season build up, after jetting out to meet Sam Thompson in Australia.
The 35-year-old, who recently appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here as he greeted winner Sam Thompson leaving the jungle, has opened up about the festive period and how much he enjoyed missing the 'build up'.
Pete jetted out to Australia earlier this month to welcome the Made In Chelsea star back, as Sam's girlfriend Zara McDermott revealed why she wasn't there.
However, he's now admitted he's 'so glad' to have been away for the festive period.
"I'm so glad I've been away and missed most of the build up to Christmas," Pete said. "The day itself is fine, but the build up before and the month after is awful. Too much before, and after it you just feel a little blue."
Pete admitted it's a 'heavy' day for him, and that he normally spends it alone with his dogs at home.
"I find it a heavy, heavy day. I always go and see my mum in the morning and then I generally just sit with the dogs and watch Only Fools And Horses," he explained.
"I've got my reasons! That is pretty much my Christmas, job done."
This comes after Pete addressed fans' concerns over his appearance on I'm A Celebrity, with some speculating that he'd undergone cosmetic surgery and appeared 'abnormal'.
He took to Instagram to explain the cause of his appearance, writing: "Also, you'll all be pleased to know my face has returned to normal following the horrific reaction I had to the mosquito bites. They saw my face and thought it was an all you can eat buffet."
He followed up with a selfie, alongside the caption: "Thankfully my face has returned to normal following the brutal and unprovoked attack by Australian mosquitos. Thank you all for your support during this difficult time."
