It is with sadness that we must share the news of the passing of Ray Lewis III, the son of NFL Hall of Famer and Baltimore Ravens legend, Ray Lewis. The news was shared by his younger brother, Rashawn, on Instagram on June 15th.
Ray Lewis III was only 28 years old at the time of his passing. He had followed in his father's footsteps, playing on offense at the position of running back. Ray III had played for the Miami Hurricanes, Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and Virginia Union Panthers as well as the Wyoming Mustangs professional indoor football team. During his three seasons playing for Lake Mary Prep High School in Florida, he rushed for 5,283 yards and 53 touchdowns.
The 48-year-old Ray Lewis had a stellar career in the NFL, winning two Super Bowls, two Defensive Player of the Year awards and seven first-team All-Pro awards. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
