Rapper Fat Joe has concerns about the portrayal of femininity in hip-hop by male artists.
Last week, the talented Fat Joe, who hails from the Bronx, expressed his thoughts on the current state of hip-hop. He went on a mini-rant about what he perceives as a growing trend of "feminine" behavior among male rappers. It's important to note that his frustration is not directed towards rappers who identify as gay. Rather, he takes issue with those who paint their nails, wear dresses, and claim to be straight.

During an Instagram Live session on April 26, Joe delved into his beef with some of these rappers. He pointed out a stark difference between how rappers carried themselves back in his day and how they do now. "Listen, guys, don't get me wrong," he clarified. "I have no problem with the LBGT community. If you're gay and proud, that's your business. I have a best friend and brother who happens to be gay. I don't care. But this whole thing with boxing, where these guys are claiming to be girls? Come on, man. That's just messing around!"

Joe is known for his candid commentary on Instagram, and he didn't hold back in this instance. He noted that while society has come a long way in accepting people for who they are, he believes that being gay has been around for a long time. He doesn't have an issue with that. However, he's perplexed by the current crop of rappers who identify as straight but engage in behaviors like painting their nails or carrying Birkin bags. He wonders if this is a new trend and questions whether it would have been acceptable during his formative years in the hip-hop scene.

"It seems like there's a new cool thing to do," Joe continued. "Paint your nails, carry a designer bag, wear a dress. I can't help but wonder if this would have been accepted back in my day. It's mind-blowing to think about which rapper would have done that. I'm just saying, in my era, I highly doubt we would have seen that."
