Rajasthan Education Minister removes Akbar from list of 'great' historical figures in school curriculum.
In a recent announcement, Rajasthan's Education Minister Madan Dilawar shared that Mughal emperor Akbar will no longer be portrayed as a great figure in schools. The Minister expressed his disapproval of Akbar's actions, stating that he had caused harm and destruction to the country for many years. He also made it clear that praising Akbar as a "great personality" will not be tolerated in the future.

The Minister made these remarks during the 28th state-level "Bhama Shah Samman Samaroh" at Sukhadia University's Vivekananda Auditorium in Udaipur. He expressed his regret that despite his sacrifices for the honor and dignity of Mewar, Maharana Pratap was never given the recognition he deserved. Dilawar emphasized the importance of education and assured that every contribution made by the Bhama Shahs will be put to good use.

Earlier this year, Dilawar had referred to Akbar as a "rapist" and called for his removal as a great personality from school textbooks. He had also mentioned the need to revise school textbooks following a change in the government. "We don't need to make any changes in the curriculum, but any content that disrespects our great men or promotes unethical statements will be removed," he had stated during a press conference on January 30.

Dilawar further added that there were many misleading statements about ancestors like Veer Savarkar and Shivaji, which will be corrected. He pointed out that while Akbar is praised as a great man, Shivaji is belittled as "Pahadi Chuha" and Maharana Pratap's role is overshadowed by Akbar's. Such biased statements will not be tolerated and will be reviewed, he assured.

On the other hand, during the event, the Education Minister also commended the tradition of Bhama Shahs in Rajasthan. He remembered how former Chief Minister Bhairon Singh Shekhawat had initiated the practice of seeking cooperation from Bhama Shahs in 1997. Dilawar praised Rajasthan as a land of sacrifice, bravery, and heroism. He shared the story of how Bhama Shah had donated his entire wealth to Maharana Pratap when the latter had to take refuge in the forests.

In conclusion, the Minister celebrated Rajasthan as a land of great men and heroic deeds, highlighting the inspirational legacy of Maharana Pratap, Bhama Shah, and tribal leader Govind Guru. He reminded everyone of the rich and glorious history of the state, which is filled with remarkable individuals and their noble acts.
