Quincy Brown has been taking time to remember his late mother Kim Porter in the sweetest way. He has been sharing throwback photos of the two of them together on his Instagram. Most recently, he shared a side-by-side of himself as a young child and his mom wearing a black dress. He captioned the post with an affectionate nickname, “Young Pooh Bear.”
This post came one month after another throwback photo of Quincy and his mom, where he wrote “I’m still a MOMMA’s boy” with a purple heart. As the four-year anniversary of Porter’s passing approaches, it's understandable that Quincy would be reflecting on his mother's memory.
Porter died from a lung infection in November 2018. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner determined that the manner of death was natural. She left behind four children, three of them being Diddy's children whom Quincy considers his own - son Christian “King” Combs and twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James - and Quincy, whom Porter welcomed with singer Al B Sure.
In April, Quincy was promoting the Paramount+ series, “MTV’s Family Legacy” which he narrated and appeared in alongside his brothers Christian and Justin Dior Combs. While speaking about the show, Quincy opened up about how important carrying his mom’s legacy is for him. He said, “I’m my mom’s son, so therefore, there’s so much life for me to expand on off of her life. And that journey hasn’t even started yet, which is the best part about it. What my mom’s legacy is representative of is beyond words. That’s gonna really come to life soon.”
It's clear that Quincy is doing his best to honor his mother's legacy and it's inspiring to see how much he values her memory.
