Puja Offered to River Cauvery on Full Moon

**Koodige, Oct. 7:** The 163rd full moon (Purnima) puja ritual was conducted at the Cauvery site near the Kodagu-Mysuru border bridge, organized by the Kushalnagar Baravi Cauvery Kannada Sangha to mark the Bhadrapada full moon.

The rituals were performed under the guidance of priest Purushottama Bhat.

After adorning Goddess Cauvery and performing special prayers and the *Maha Mangalarati* (grand final offering of lights), *Prasada* and *Anna Santarpana* (community meal) were distributed to the gathered devotees. Prayers were offered for good rainfall, a bountiful harvest, and the prosperity of the land.

Sunanda Kaushik from Bengaluru and Vanitha Suresh from Belur performed the day's puja service.

Speaking on the occasion, Satyajit Surathkal, State President of the Narayana Guru Vichara Vedike, remarked that water is essential for every living being. He praised the Baravi Sangha for its exemplary work in fostering a sense of devotion and reverence for the Cauvery River—which originates in Kodagu—by organizing the *Aarati* puja every month.
