Problem of Dowry system

The Dowry system is a custom in which the wife's family provides a substantial amount of money, goods, or property to the husband as part of the marriage contract. The dowry system is one of the most prominent social evils in India. It has been a part of Indian society since ancient times. The practice was prevalent among all classes and castes and was an important part of traditional Indian social structure.

It is a common practice for parents to give their daughter expensive gifts, such as jewelry and other valuable items before she gets married. This gift is called dowry. In some parts of India, it has become customary for the groom’s family to pay a dowry to the bride’s parents, who may be expecting it or not expecting it at all.

The Dowry system is a practice that has been around for many centuries. It is the practice of giving money, goods, or property to the bride’s family, in order to secure marriage. This dowry system has been criticized by many because it’s viewed as a way to exploit women and also a form of abuse.

In India, there are two types of dowries: one is called “dowry at the time of marriage” and the other one is called “dowry after marriage”. The first type usually takes place when the bride’s family gives gifts to the groom’s family and vice versa at the time of marriage. The second type usually takes place when there are conflicts between spouses.
