Prajwal Revanna may come back on Friday and be arrested by SIT at Bengaluru airport in the vulgar video case.
According to sources, the Special Investigation Team assigned to the case of an obscene video involving JD MP Prajwal Revanna, will take him into custody upon his arrival at Bengaluru International Airport. It has been reported that Revanna has booked a ticket back to Bengaluru from Frankfurt and is expected to land at Kempegowda International Airport on May 3 in the late evening. He has expressed his intention to appear before the SIT authorities on May 4, and sources suggest that he may be picked up directly from the airport.

The notice issued to Revanna falls under CrPC Section 41A, which requires the person to appear before the authorities within 24 hours. In response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's comments about the Siddaramaiah government's alleged inaction in the case, state Home Minister Dr G. Parameshwara stated that arrests cannot be made without proper consideration of factors such as evidence, complaint details, applicable sections and whether the offence is bailable. He emphasized that the probe must be conducted within the legal framework and that is why the SIT was formed.

In regards to Revanna being in a foreign country, Parameshwara confirmed that the SIT had already issued a notice and is aware of his location. If Revanna fails to attend the inquiry, steps will be taken to bring him back to the country with the cooperation of the Central government, if necessary. The SIT has also issued a notice to Revanna's father, JD MLA H.D. Revanna, who is the second accused in one of the cases of sexual harassment filed by their maid.

On Tuesday, Revanna was suspended from the JD party and his candidacy for Lok Sabha from Hassan was revoked, following the formation of the SIT by the Congress government in Karnataka to investigate the allegations against him. The notice has instructed both Revanna and his father to present themselves before Superintendent of Police Seema Latkar within the given time frame.
