Police apprehend four teens for suspected car theft in Melbourne.
Four teenagers have been taken into custody following an alleged carjacking incident in the south-east area of Melbourne. According to authorities, the victim was parked at a shopping center on Nepean Highway in Cheltenham at 10pm yesterday when he was approached by a group of three teenagers. The victim reported being threatened with a pair of pliers before being forcibly removed from his grey Mazda sedan.

After the alleged carjacking, the teenagers fled the scene in the victim's car, making a pit stop to pick up two additional teenagers along the way. The stolen vehicle was eventually found abandoned at the intersection of Hammond Road and Cheltenham Road in Dandenong. Two 14-year-old girls turned themselves in to a Protective Services Officer at a nearby train station and were subsequently arrested. They were later released with a caution for theft of a motor vehicle.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were apprehended on Lonsdale Street in Dandenong at 3am on the same night. They are currently being questioned by police and are expected to face charges for aggravated carjacking and theft of a motor vehicle. An application will be made today to keep the boys in custody.

At this time, authorities are still searching for one of the teenagers involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
