On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 1,024 residential units constructed in the city under the Light House Project Indore. The event was live telecasted from Gulmarg Complex 2 in Village Kanadiya and the beneficiaries of the project were handed over the certificates and keys of the houses by water resources minister Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav and other guests.
The residents of the Light House Project were urged to take care of the multi-storeyed buildings. To further improve the construction quality of the residential units of the under-construction buildings under the PM Awas Yojana and to speed up the work, the Centre had started the Global Housing Technology Challenge-India. Indore was one of the six cities selected from across the country for the implementation of the Light House Project.
The foundation stone of the construction of 1,024 1BHK residential units at a cost of Rs 128 crore with state-of-the-art Pre-Fabricated Sandwich Panel System technology was laid in Kanadiya. This technology has several advantages, like negligible use of water in the construction of walls and light-weight and heat and sound-insulating walls due to the use of expanded polystyrene in the sandwich panel. The scheme has also been registered for 4 Star Rating under Green Rating.
The inauguration of the Light House Project was a significant milestone for Indore. It is hoped that the residents of the project will make the best use of the technology available and maintain the buildings properly.
